While taking care of my husband during his cancer treatment at MD Anderson, I discovered how confusing sorting through a dozen bottles of medication can be. The labeling all looks identical and everything is written in a language fit for pharmacists & physicians. Finding the right medication in the middle of the night was an overwhelming experience during an already stressful time.

I couldn’t help but imagine how daunting taking medicine must be for children going through treatment.

I designed a set of color-coded sticker labels that are applied right on-top of the original labeling. Their purpose is to organize a caregiver’s  pharmaceutical pantry while creating a less intimidating experience for the children who need to take them.

The existing “MyChart” app will have a built-in program that links the label’s QR Codes to more detailed information on the drug in an easy-to-read format.

APP INTEGRATION

St. Jude’s  attracts patients from all over the world. The labels and information in the app will accommodate the various languages of the patients and their families.
